Natasha grunted as she shoved the stake into the dummy's "heart." She paused and used one of her hands to wipe some strands of hair off of her sweaty forehead. She then took a deep breath, took the stake out, and plunged it back in.
Why the hell had they chosen her? What was so special about her? Sure, she was a guardian for the Queen and had graduated at top of her class, but still. She was so young. If they had specifically wanted someone young, then they should've asked Rose, or even Dimitri. Those two were used to giving orders. Not Natasha.
She remembered how the other guardians had reacted when they found out that someone as young as her was going to be their boss. Let's just say they weren't too happy.
Natasha staked the dummy harder.

Angel entered the gym, hoping it was empty and she can read her book in peace. The classroom was too noisy for her, and the hallway was getting too crowded. She was surprised to see the head of the school there. "Oh, hello there Miss Natasha, sorry to disturb you. I hope you don't mind if I read my book here." she said shyly.

Natasha turned her attention away from the dummy when someone walked in. She smiled at the girl. She was obviously a student here and a dhampir. Natasha remembered when she was a sophomore. She had ran away from St. Vladimir with Rose and Lissa at that age. It was the beginning of their long journey. It seemed like it was a lifetime ago.
"No problem," she said friendly as she took the stake out of the dummy, "may I ask what your name is?"

"My name is Angelica, Angelica Alexander. I'm a sophomore and a dhampir." Angel introduced herself, rather shakingly seeing the guardian take the stake out of the dummy. She felt nervous, although she didn't know why. People said that the head was a nice person, but why did she feel uncomfortable around her? Maybe its because she just met her and didn't know what to do.

Natasha smiled at the girl when she noticed how nervous she was. Although, Natasha was only about two or so years older than her.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Angelica" she greeted. Her eyes scanned over the girl. She was skinny for a dhampir and her hair was long. It was also an abnormal color. Natasha shrugged it off, though. There was nohing wrong with being unique.
"You haven't learned how to stake a Strigoi yet, have you?" Natasha questioned. She flipped the stake up into the air and the caught the hilt of it with perfect coordination. Yes, she was showing off a bit. So sue her.

Angelica shook her head, "N-No I haven't, not at close range at least. But I'm good with a crossbow if that counts." She was amazed at how coordinated Natasha was. I guess that's what all guardians were like. She thought to herself. She wondered if she could be that well coordinated in the future.

Natasha blinked. Crossbows? Well, that was different...
And extremely useful. Why hadn't they taught her that back at St. Vladimir? This school was different, that was for sure. Natasha winced slightly as it made her think about how unqualified she was for the job.
"That's great" Natasha told her, figuring that there was no use in pointing out that she herself didn't know how to use a crossbow. Natasha glanced at the dummy and then at the stake in her hand. Her eyes then returned to Angelica.
"Would you like to learn?"

Angelica nodded slightly. "Yes" she said with a smile. Although it would be easy to just merely stab a wooden stake into the heart, she thought that it would be a little harder than that.
She wouldn't be surprised if there was some kind of technique for stabbing a stake into another vampire, mostly everything has some kind of technique.

Natasha nodded and smiled slightly. She bit her lip a moment later, trying to figure out just how to demonstrate this right. She had always been the one being teached, not the one doing the teaching. She just had to remember how she was taught.
Natasha handed the silver stake to Angelica. She then took a step to the side to allow Angelica to stand directly in front of the dummy.
"Well, uh, first off, you need to make sure your stance is good. If your stance isn't good, then it would be to easy for the Strigoi to knock you down. It'll also make it too difficult to aim and get good leverage" she adviced. She then hit the spot on the dummy's chest where the heart was. "You have to get it through the ribs and sternum. It's not the easiest thing. There's a lot of stuff protecting the heart."
She took a step back and waited for Angelica to give it a try. She hoped that she wouldn't get in trouble for teaching her this. But she was the head of the school guardians, she couldn't get in trouble for something as small as this... right? She really should've given Alberta a call.
