Araceli wandered silently through the park careful to keep an eye out for strigoi. Seeing as she was only a freshman and really had very few Strigoi fighting skills. She just had to be twice as careful. That was all. The young fifteen year old Dhampir girl kept wandering until she came to a rather tall tree. She stared up at the lowest branch and smiled. It woud be a peice of cake to get up to it. She pulled on the waist of her jeans even though she knew they would stay on comfortably and then pulled down on her blue shirt and made sure that the black jacket she had on was secure. She pulled on the heels of her white flats and sthen ran so that she scaled the tree with ease. She then climbed up higher so that she would be out of sight if one looked up from the ground. She sat on the branch she stopped on and listened for a moment or two and heard nothing she she started to sing. She was singing a song called Sweet Afton by Nickel Creek. It was a really pretty song but she sang it up an octave becaue it was a guy singing it originally and she was a saprano. She was sure that the song could be heard in any direction for a while but she didn't mind. She wasn't scared of anything at the moment.

It was Natasha's day off and frankly, she had no idea what to do with herself. She wasn't quite as used to having free time and when she did, it was typically during the evening time, so she would just curl up and read a nice book. But she had too much time on her hands for that right now. She would get bored too easily if all she did was read a book all day.
Natasha paused in her stroll when she heard a voice start to sing. She smiled slightly to herself. If the girl was willing to sing out loud like that in public, then she must've been confident about herself.
She walked up to where the sound seemed to originate from. A tree. Natasha looked up into the tree. Her keen eyes could tell that someone was there, she just didn't know who. It was also obvious by the fact that there was a voice coming from there. As far as Natasha knew, trees didn't sing. At least not in a way that she could hear.
"You have a lovely voice" she said up to whoever was in the tree.

'You have a lovely voice.'
That was what Ara heard as she finished the last note of the song, the echos of her voice still vibrating softly. Her grey eyes widened and she gasped softly as one word came to mind. 'Strigoi.' She had known that they lurked in the dark park at night. She supposed that she would as well It was a nice place to come so she had to assume that they picked up snacks here often. She knew that singing was a huge risk but she couldn't help it. Ara jusy loved to sing. But know she wasn't sure what to do. Was it a Strigoi? A human out late? A Mori or another Dhampir? She wasn't sure.
She shifted so that she could slide of the branch and onto another silently so she could see who it was. She dropped and then dropped again and saw a face she knew. She hadn't spoken to it's owner but she definatly knew that Gaurdian below her. It was Natasha Contrarez, the Head Guardian at school She smiled widly and she slid down a few more brancheds and landed gracefully a few feet from the young Guardian. "Hello Guardian Natasha." The young teen said respectfully. Her voice relfected her kind sweet nature but she was surprisingly feirce what it came to practice and fightung to protect those close to her.
This was the first time that Ara had acttually been this close to the Head Guardian so she took in the details of her in depth. The long dark brown hair fraimed her face and her eyes were ice blue. She looked to be about nineteen to tweenty and if she remembered correctly she was ninteen. Ninteen. That woule be how old Lia was if she hadn't died in the house fire two years ago. Looking at Natasha she was suddenly noticed how much Natasha looked like Lia. They had the same hair color and while their eyes were different not by much. They would even be the saim age.
Ara felt tears sting her eyes and she bit her tounge lightly to try and keep her lower lip from trembling. She pretty much failed though and she felt warm tears slid out of her eyes and down her cheeks. Her lower lip trembled them no matter what she did to try and stop it. She blinked her grey eyes as her vision grew blury.

Natasha smiled at the girl and was about to ask her name and compliment her on her grace, when the girl suddenly started crying. Natasha flinched slightly in shock and looked around for anything that could've made the girl cry. She found nothing, by her opinion, that was tear inducing. She turned her attention back to the girl. She scratched the back of her head awkwardly. Sure, she could take down a Strigoi with no problem, but when it came to a crying teenage girl whom she had never met before, she hesitated.
"Are you, um, are you alright?" she questioned in genuine concern.

'Are you, um, are you alright?'
Ara attempted a nod but she knew it was a lie. She missed her older sister and her parents dearly and Natasha, looking so much like Lia, brought fresh pain and loss to the brown haired girl. "It's just that.... that...." she whispered softly before lettin out a small hicup. "That you look a lot like my sister. Same hair color, her eyes were greyish blue but close to your eye color.... And... andd she would be ninteen like i belive you are if she hadn't died." She closed her eyes tighty in an attempt to not have the full memory resurface but it was no use. It had been two years but she remembered it very clearly.
It was a really nice night. The stars were twinkling and she and her family had spent a great evening togeather playing and such. That night the five of them went to bed and Ara had a very pleasant dream about a meadow when she was shaken awake by Lia. "Ara! Come on sis we gotta get you out of here. Let's go get Dante and hurry about it!" Ara blinked her drowsy feeling away and smelt the smoke. She jumped out of bed and clung to her sister. As they ran to Dante's room. Lia spoke again, "Dante. We need to get up. Come on the house is ablaize!" it had only taken a second for him to jump up at that and the three of them went to the stairs. "Dante get Ara out! I'll go get Mom and Dad! GO!"
Lia rushed back down the hall and The two younger siblings went down stairs Dante pulled her towards the door but Ara struggled as tears started to roll down her face. "NO! No no no! I'm not gunna leave! I can't leave! I won't leave with out Mom, Dad, and Lia! I won't leave anyone behind.!" Dante hesitaited and loosened his grip on her as he tried to comfort her and tell her they were on their way. A moment later Ara pulled free and ran to the base of the stairs and into Lia's arms.
Just then their was a loud crashing noise and Lia shoved Ara as hard as she could and sent the young thirteen year old flying towards the door. Dante caught her just at a burning ceiling beam chrashed down and pinned her parents and older sister to the floor. "NO!!!! MOM! DAD! LIA!!!" she screamed as Dante forced her from the burning house. She sat at a safe distance and clung to her brother what seemed like forever. Ara was sobbing and Dante was holding her close and stoking her hair tears leaking from his eyes as well.
Ara bit her lower lip as tears flowed fast because of the memory and she clutched her sides in a way to steady herself but her body started shaking with sobs and her legs buckled. The only thing she wanted at this moment was to be held by her brother. But that didn't look possible seeing as he wasn't there.

"Oh" Natasha said awkwardly. This was a position she had never quite been in before, at least not with a stranger. She looked around for a moment before turning her attention back to the girl. She sighed, not in a bored way, but sort of in a sympathetic way. She went and sat down, putting her back against the tree. She patted the spot next to her, signaling for the girl to sit there.
"What was she like?" Natasha questioned the girl, her voice soft and sad.

Ara looked at Natasha as she moved to the tree. Ara crawled over to the tree and curled up next to her trying to stop her tears but they just kept coming She heard Natasha's words. She was silent for a moment. "Well I was always pretty close to her. My brother and I held a closer bond but Lia and I were pretty close. She was a really nice person she cared about everyone and she had the tenancy to take charge. She was always great with advice if you had a problem. I loved her very much. And if it hadn't been for her I would have died. Because she was the one who got up first when out house caught fire and roused everyone. She got my brother and I first then went back for Mom and Dad. When they came down towards the door I ran to them... Lia pushed me away as... a celing beam chrashed down... the three of them didn't make it... But she managed her gat me out of the way somehow." She whispered looking at the blured grass at her feet.

Natasha nodded as she listened to the girl. Natasha had never had a sister, or any other siblings for that matter, but she was sure that if she lost one of them, she would be devastated. Just like if she had lost her parents that way. Well, still to this day Natasha wasn't sure how she felt about her father's death. She had spent so many years hating him that she just wasn't sure. But she remembered how it felt the day her mother went missing. Natasha shivered slightly and refused to let herself remember the feelings of utter grief and worry. Instead, she turned her attention back to the girl.
"She sounds very brave," she said comfortingly, "and at least you know she died for a good reason. She died protecting someone that she loves. As far as I'm concerned, that's one of the best ways to go."
She would have added on about how she will see her sister again someday and that she was sure she was in a better place, but she wasn't sure where this girl stood religiously.

'She sounds very brave, and at least you know she died for a good reason. She died protecting someone that she loves. As far as I'm concerned, that's one of the best ways to go.'
Ara smiled slightly but the tears kept coming. She nodded and looked at Natasha. "I would gladly give my life up to save some one I loved and cared about. It's sort of part of the reason I shock people in training. Because I'm always so nice and sweet outside of that that they see a totaly different person when I train. Because I can't stand to loose anyone else so I want to be they very best I can be so I can protect everyone." She hiccupped and sniffled still trying to stop her tears.

Natasha wished that she had a tissue or something to give the girl. But she knew that sometimes, the tears must fall.
She smiled slightly at the girl's words. She remembered back slightly to when she was in school and training.
"I was kind of the same," she said, her ice blue eyes slightly glazed over in memory, "I was always the quiet one in my group of friends. Don't get me wrong, I was able to have a conversation just fine, but I hardly ever really had anything to say. Besides, I'm the type of person who would rather watch and listen than participate. Anyway, but when i trained, I went all out. Some people were shocked, but they soon got used to it. Let's just say that I sometimes had difficulty finding a sparring partner. Though I don't blame them, I was pretty bad-ass."
She said that last bit jokingly, chuckling a bit.

Ara smiled at Natasha and nodded. "Yea. I'm a really nice person. Easy to start a conversation with and be friend with but I can fight and if you get on my bad side well... I go all out and won't hesitaite to stop you from messing with my friends and what is left of my family." She shrugged and sniffled before rubbing her eyes again. "I still have a lot to learn though. I haven't learned how to kill Strigoi yet. I caan throw punches and kick and if nessicary make use of my nails and teeth. But I don't have stake skills at all..."

Natasha nodded. The girl did appear only about fifteen years old. She was probably just a freshman.
"Well, let's hope you won't need any for a long time" she said.
Eh it's pathetic ><

Ara nodded. Yea... really want to learn though. I'd hate to run into one and not know how to kill it. You know what I mean?" She said. She glanced around cautiously knowing that it was a pretty bad idea to come out here alone. After all... a place she knew Strigoi came here and she just said she hadn't a clue how to kill one. No not her brightest move ever...

Natasha's lip twitched as she watched the realization come to the girl's face.
"Which reminds me," she said nonchalantly, "what are you doing out here without a guardian?"
She turned her head to look at the girl and raised a questioing eyebrow at her. How had the girl even left school campus without a guardian noticing her?

Ara ducked her head sheepishly but her smile remained on her lips. "Uhm..... I uh... Sorta just camped out in a tree for a bit until I saw the coast was clear and just ran off campus... And no one noticed me some how..." She looked at Natasha and hoped she wouldn't be punished.
