Nationality:: Scotland
Family: Delilah Malixi (mom)- Moroi ; Thakery Mercer (biological father)- Moroi ; Shawn Malixi (step-dad)- Dhampir ; Lila Warren (eldest sister)- Moroi ; Jasmine Quin (youngest sister)- Moroi ; Kaine Mercer (baby brother)- Moroi ; Abigail Evans (girlfriend/mother of his child) ; Moroi ; Kinkade Cymir Malixi (son) ; Dhampir
History: Silas Jay Malixi was born and raised in Scotland, as were his ancestors before him. He had a proud history and a very loving family. As a child, he was clever and cheerful with a gift for memorization. Even as a small boy, he was capable of hearing and repeating something, be it a song, commercial, or something else. He began attending school and he excelled in classes centered on lectures such as English and History. When he turned six his father (he didn't meet his biological father until his baby brother's conception; only when he was old enough to realize Shawn was a Dhampir and couldn't have been his father did he even know the man had ever existed, but he still calls Shawn his father.) expressed to him that while he'd always trained before, now it was serious. One day he'd have to protect some very important people; he had to get very strong, very quickly. The little boy didn't know what to do besides train with his father. Maybe one day he'd be as strong as dad and he could protect people, too. He still got bored and required frequent breaks, but he was trying to be just like dad. His father could ask nothing more. Day by day, the man got more anxious and the young Moroi, bit by bit, grew more confident. He may not have gained a lot of experience or strength then, but he trusted himself more.
And then, it happened.
Silas doesn't talk about it, but his father was killed by Strigoi. His death ushered change but Silas adapted. Silas grew up happily with his mother and her partners through the years. Guardians and other Moroi seemed to gravitate toward her, but she never did commit. Several siblings were born; a sister two years after his father's death, another three years after that, and finally a baby brother the following year. He enjoyed raising them, actually; he was naturally good with kids. And his life went on unhindered. At seventeen his childhood friend and a classmate, Abby, got pregnant. He was ecstatic that he was going to be a father. She was a Dhampir, and a stunning one at that. He adored her, though he wouldn't go so far as to say she was his guardian. More like a companion- he had his own guardian, and she had her own Moroi to protect.
Kinkade was born in November. He was a delicate baby with inner strength where his physical form seemed lacking. As Kins grew, he and Silas had an irrevocably strong bond. Though Kade would later resent his father outwardly, the two understood each other and shared moments of proof when Kade wasn't angry. Contrary to appearances, Kade respected his father far more than he respected his mother and Silas, though it was never said, did know this clearly.
When Kade was five, Silas got the chance to venture to America to teach at an academy. Truth be told, the Moroi needed supervision and guidance, though he was nearing the age of twenty-two then. He was an asset to any institution. Silas pleaded with Abby to move with him, to start a life abroad in a remarkable country but she refused and held Kade as a sort of ransom. Silas considered staying in Scotland for Kade, but in the end, he moved to America and filed for joint custody that awarded him custody of his son over the summer months. He was given sole custody when Kade was fifteen in order to enroll the boy in a proper school for his training.

Personality: Silas is quiet- not one for many words or for drawing attention to himself, particularly out of the classroom. He prefers staying below the radar. He's very reserved, very introverted. Wild parties, chaotic situations, overactive children, dangerous stunts and the like all seem to make him very uncomfortable. He is not particularly daring or brave. No, rather, he's predictable, stable, and constant- never one for spontaneous actions.
Silas is paternal and patient. He cares for others, wants to see them happy, and he avoids overreactions and confrontation at all costs- even going so far as to seem void of emotion at times. Most of the time he seems to have a calm attitude about him. A sort of confidence in himself and in the world around him. Rarely will he yell, and rarely will he say anything he'll regret later (unless, of course, Kade is doing something dangerous.). It's easier not to give into taunting, rather than picking up the pieces after retaliation.
Silas is very shy around strangers. He manages in classes with new students, but it terrifies him. He tries to hide it, sometimes successfully but normally not. He is not one for physical pursuits; reading a good book, writing, or teaching suit him better. He has a deep respect for his guardians and for all Dhampirs and he feels a kinship with fellow Moroi. Strigoi, however, terrify and infuriate him- often the two emotions are felt together and whichever is felt strongest seems to take over.
Likes: Kids, candy, and Kins
Dislikes: Violence, red apples, and hospitals/doctors
Fears: Fire/burns, losing his guardian, and losing his son.
Hopes: For the world, he hopes for peace. Realistically, he strives for tolerance. He starts this by trying to practice tolerance and kindness within himself. For himself, mostly, he wants a family. He has Kade and loves him, but the boy wants little to do with him so he strives for a relationship with Kade and a loving family.
Power: Air
Roleplay Example:
SILLY BEE
ah, please talk to me
won't you please talk to me
we can unlock this misery
come on, come talk to me.This day was jsut an average day. It was quiet, peaceful, relaxing... Somehow, placing those words in his mind made him feel better. Silas Malixi leaned back in his desk chair, his eyes closed. Across the room the door was open for anyone who dare to venture in, but he didn't go out of his way to usher them into the familiar classroom.
Buzz. Buzz.
Silas opened his eyes and tilted his head down before he raised an eyebrow at the computer. No visible electricity was escaping it's casing, but he half expected it to suddenly start on fire, anyway. It was the Moroi's worse fear so the strange computer functions lead him to assume the worse. It would have been characteristic of his luck recently.
Buzz. Buzz.
Tentatively Silas poked at the laptop. It chimed several seconds later as if in reply to his touch, much to his surprise. Silas leaned forward, noticing text on the screen.[10:13:15] kinseykade: hey dad!
[10:13:46] kinseykade: daad!
[10:14:03] kinseykade: don't ignore me!
[10:20:52] You have been buzzed!
[10:22:24] You have been buzzed!
[10:22:59] kinseykade: that bridge of communication is burning, dad. watch the smoke rise.
How odd... Well, when in Rome. He placed his fingers on the keys to compose a message, silently hoping it really was Kins (though, if it was he should be in class and not sending these messages). Four letters, one question mark, then the return key. He looked up immediately at the screen, making sure it went through on his screen.[10:23:38] s.malixi: Kade?
It seemed to have worked fine. Now, if only he could see Kade's screen. What was the logic behind this communication, anyway? He couldn't quite understand. The next chime brought him out of his thoughts and revealed a reply. In fact, there were several in rather rapid succession.[10:23:51] kinseykade: dad! there you are.
[10:24:29] kinseykade: do you have any chocolate in your classroom?
[10:24:58] kinseykade: there's this pretty girl and i kinda wanna give her something sweet, y'know.
[10:24:02] kinseykade: still there, silas?
Silas blinked. That's what it felt like, at least. One blink and the kid had typed that much. To the request, he could only smile and bite his lip to keep from laughing aloud.[10:26:49] s.malixi: Slow down. Yeah, I have candy bars in my room if you want a few. I also have chocolate frosting and graham crackers, kiddo.
Silas smiled to himself, proud to remember what a five-year-old version of Kade liked as a treat. Surely Kade hadn't changed too much, and perhaps the little boy would appreciate the familiar treat as much as Silas definitely would. Again his mind was torn from his thoughts to the screen as it chimed.[10:27:08] kinseykade: 'kay, i'll be there at lunch, sly.
Silas nodded to the screen, though Kinkade clearly couldn't see it, then leaned back in his chair. This was a start. A very good one at that.
